The Embassy of Vietnam and the Mayfair-based art gallery, D Contemporary, are delighted to announce 'Colours of the Motherland', a group exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of UK/Vietnam diplomatic relations. The exhibition, which runs from 28th March to 7th April, is part of a larger cultural event supported by the Embassy and combines a range of styles by contemporary artists, ranging from traditional, highly intricate lacquer and silk works to free-flowing figurative and representational pieces.
With this being the second collaboration and following the success of the 2022 solo exhibition of the 15-year-old prodigy, Xeo Chu, ‘Big World Seen from Little Eyes’, the gallery is very grateful to continue this on-going collaboration with the Embassy of Vietnam and welcome The Hanoi Art House , a UK-based gallery specialising in Vietnamese art for co-curating the show.
Featuring paintings full of movement, serenity, and grace, "Colours of the Motherland" celebrates the beauty of everyday life. Exuberant colours bridge East and West through a combination of tradition and the contemporary, creating a familiar yet mysterious essence. Vietnamese artists paint to celebrate life, their love of people, and the beauty of nature. With dynamism, calm, and elegance, this four-season symphony of colours reflects the artists' love of their homeland.
