About the Exhibition
About the Exhibition
D Contemporary is pleased to present ‘step BY step’; a showcase of contemporary Belarusian artworks, in collaboration with Art Haos Belarus.
This exhibition of Belarusian art invites everyone to talk about happiness, joy, beauty, and kindness – those timeless values that are not only part of Belarusian culture but universal. Humour, meditativeness, poetry, inner harmony and balance characterise paintings and sculptures that will be showcased at the exhibition.
Most works being exhibited are removed from reality. At the centre of a painter’s focus is the world of feelings and personal emotional experience. Combining realistic and surrealistic tradition, painters Alexander Demidov and Anna Silivonchik turn to themes from childhood; Yegor Batalyonok to those of natural origin; Nikolay Buschik and Varvara Vyborova to human existence. Their works are harmonious and aimed at the perception of the figurative language of beauty. The audience of this exhibition can expect to see vivid colours and simple forms, fairy-tale characters and lyric landscapes, as well as psychological portraits.
Participating Artitsts: Yegor Batalyonok, Nikolay Buschik, Varvara Vyborova, Pavel Grebennikov, Olga Grouss, Alexander Demidov, Alesya Issa, Vasiliy Kostyuchenko, Mariya Larionova, Ivan Semiletov, Anna Silivonchik, Alexander Shibnev, Alexander Yushkevich.
